UPDATE: The winner of this giveaway is #17, Fancygrlnancy!

Summers in the Old Pueblo are BRUT. AL. If you live here, I don’t need to tell you that, right? Lets be honest, there’s just not much to do when its 110 degrees outside unless you have a pool or get a little creative.

How do we best the flames of hell 100+ temps summer heat? We’ll escape to Mt. Lemmon for the day (or drive a little further for a week), visit the local pool parks or just find indoor fun until the sun goes down.

But there is nothing better in the Summer for three teen boys than a great waterpark. Plenty of sun, cool pools and thrilling slides. Only problem? Wish they were closer.

In exchange for this promotional post, I received compensation from Big Surf Waterpark. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

  1. I was just on Big Surf’s website a few weeks ago. Looks like a fun place. What did you think of the section for tots/little ones? I bet my 5-year-old and 3-year-old would have a blast there.

We beat the heat by staying indoors during the hottest part of the day. We’ve been painting, reading, and making peanut butter balls. In the evenings, the girls head outside to pretend in their playhouse and/or to “swim” in their plastic baby pool.

  2. Right now we have a temporary pool that we put up for the kids so we have a place to get wet… but we still have to swim before 3pm, after that even 30 minutes in this heat is just too much to handle! Love the giveaway, thanks!!

  3. I luv your site! Very cute! As for the giveaway you are offering, I’m still trying to find ways to beat the heat and boredom! It’s difficult to do in AZ when you don’t have a pool and have 2 kids that go crazy during summer break. So far this summer we have had a couple of water balloon fights and went to a couple of splash playgrounds to cool off, along with a lot of arts and crafts activities. I’m teaching my daughter how to sew and crochet and my son how to drive! Yikes! I also helped my daughter make a pair of feather earrings that she wanted super bad that cost too much at the mall. She was thrilled to find out you can make your own creations that are just as nice as the ones they have at the store and for much less! Single mom on a tiny budget doesn’t go over well with the kidlets but does make you think creatively. :-) Love the giveaway! Thank you and I’m keeping my fingers (and toesies) crossed!
