closing for {slight} improvements

By Nicole ·   July 8th, 2011

So after several months of x-rays, MRIs and second opinions, its been determined that I have a couple of herniated disks in my neck and will be undergoing surgery bright and early Monday morning.

Long story short, I started having a lot of sharp, burning pain in my left elbow, coupled with numb fingers. After my own remedy of ice, heat, Naproxin and rest did nothing, I went to the orthopedist who found the source of the problem (which I had never even considered). Turns out it could have been from a little spill I took playing second base (who knew church softball could be so dangerous?) or there may be a genetic element since both my brother and sister have had the same issue and resulting surgery. Or, it could be a combination of the two.

Sitting up straight causes a lot of pain, so this has been my “office” for the past several months…

I’m ready to go back to my real office; my pretty office. And running and walking for any distance has been out of the question, so I’m very much looking forward to getting my life back.

I’ll be in the hospital for a few days and I’ll be taking the next week or so off.

I’ve grown quite accustomed to walking, talking, and mobility, so any thoughts and prayers you can spare for a safe and successful outcome are definitely appreciated.

Until I blog again with a healthy neck…

    Hi Nicole,

I’m a prospective client and just came to send you details about the blog I wanted you to design for me. So sorry to hear about your injury – good luck with your surgery and I will be in touch in a few weeks (don’t want to stress you out with work emails next week!).

Look forward to working with you.
    Best,
    Marsha
