Are you a blogger? Do you love comments? Comments are the currency of the blogosphere. I don’t know of a blogger who doesn’t crave them.
Are you a blog reader? Do you “lurk” around your favorite blogs, remaining anonymous? Or, are you afraid to comment? If you’re just not sure about the whole commenting thing, let me offer some food for thought…
- Commenting is easy.
- You dont have to “sign up” or register for anything to comment.
- You will make a blogger’s day with a simple, heartfelt comment.
- You don’t have to write an eloquent prose…say something simple like, “Thank you for sharing your thoughts”, or “I completely agree with you on that”, or “No, those jeans don’t make your bootie look big”…
- Commenting is a great way to connect with other bloggers.
- Commenting is a great way to attract visitors to your own blog (but don’t be tacky…try to say something meaningful…don’t just leave a link).
- Many blogger respond to their comments (or they should if possible). If you have a question or something to add to the conversation, you might just be surprised and get a response from the blogger. Give it a try!
So don’t be afraid to comment. It wont hurt, I promise.
I was looking for a little button to encourage my readers to leave a comment and couldn’t find anything, so I made my own! If you’d like to give your readers a little nudge, feel free to use one!
(Simply right-click on an image, save it to your computer and add it to your sidebar)

Thanks for sharing the buttons with us. I will be adding mine very soon. Love your blog.

I’m a happy commenter, always thanking the blogger for sharing. But, I’m always looking for ways to get my readers to comment. A lot of my readers follow a link to Sanity Department from Facebook. So, many of them are friends or friends of friends, and not bloggers. Therefore, they do not get the whole “leave a comment” thing. Maybe a cute free button from you will help nudge them in the right direction! Thanks, again, for another great post!

I do <3 comments…what cute buttons! And how great to know I’m not the only one who anxiously awaits comments once I’ve posted a new blog!!

I love to read peoples blogs. Sometimes I just lurk. Which makes me feel like I am a complete stalker…..I do like to leave comments on some sites. The ones I feel confortable leaving them on….(does that sound funny).
I also love getting comments on my blog. It makes me feel good about my post. When I dont get comments I wonder if my post wasn’t interesting enough for someone to comment.
Thanks for the button I will add it to my sidebar.

I do comment but sometimes it’s hard to think of something to say and I hate leaving one word comments…love those comments buttons – I may even use them on my blogs or make my own, either way, thanks for your insights
